Career politicians from both parties have created a fiscal disaster in Illinois. These failed politicians, including our own state representative, John D’Amico, are responsible for:
- Creating a staggering $120 billion unfunded pension liability, the highest in the nation— that hurts you.
- Running up $45,000 of debt for each and every Illinois taxpayer—that hurts you.
Yet there is enough money for John D’Amico to have two taxpayer funded jobs that costs you $183,000 a year! Worse, he only works part-time but gets a full-time salary!
I am running for State Representative because it’s time to fix Illinois!
As a community leader, businessman, and a veteran, I am angered that our entrenched politicians put self-service before public service. Together we will reclaim our democracy for the citizens. I will be your full-time citizen-legislator, working with neighbors to restore Illinois’ fiscal health. We will make Illinois a great place to live.
I ask for your vote in the March 15th Democratic primary.
Time to Fix Illinois 2016 Solutions Agenda
Restore our State's Fiscal Health
A new path to get Illinois into the black and keep us there
We have to stop the fiscal bleeding of our hard earned tax dollars
We deserve to pay the lowest taxes possible
We must not punish the workers who did their jobs while the politicians failed at theirs
Modernizethe tax system
We must update our revenues for a 21st Century economy moving away from an over reliance on property taxes
Reclaim our Democracy
It's our Democracy, It Belongs to us, to all of us with our regard to political birthright, political family, or political privilege
because one government job and one government pension per person is enough
because it's about public service, not self-service
because we want choice at the grocery store but absolutely need a choice at the ballot box
because being an elected official is supposed to be a calling and not a career
Because too much power in the hands of too few legislators corrupts too easily and too often
A new path for a better future for all of our citizens
So we can live in an Illinois we're proud to call home!
So our neighbors in deep and real need know that somebody really cares. This is something I've already been working on for over 10 years having co-founded Lutheran Advocacy, a statewide social justice movement to do just this!
Investin childhood education and well-being
So our newest and youngest citizens are best prepared for their future right from the start
Investin neighborhood downtowns and business districts
So we have good places to shop and eat locally, right where we live
Investin local, community infrastructure
So we have good sidewalks, roads, libraries, schools and parks in our own communities while providing good paying jobs
Pay Offour debt
So we can be free of the $135 Billion fiscal disaster self-serving, career politicians have created
Growa rainy day fund
So we can weather the next financial storm ahead
